Despite everything he has endured, he is showing us every day that he wants to trust again.<br/><br/>Because of his past, Fester is understandably fearful of men. His response to this fear is typically barking or growling, which are defensive behaviors and not uncommon for guardian breeds who have experienced trauma. He is currently in the very early stages of decompression and professional training, and we are still learning more about his full personality.<br/><br/>At this time, we do not know how he is with cats.<br/><br/><br/><br/>What Fester Needs in an Adopter<br/><br/>Because of his background and breed traits, Fester requires an adopter who is:<br/> Experienced with large guardian breeds (Cane Corso, Mastiff-type breeds, etc.)<br/> Willing to work closely with our trainer prior to adoption<br/> Committed to ongoing structure, routine, and positive-reinforcement training<br/> Patient, emotionally steady, and ready to help him heal at his pace<br/><br/>His training is currently located in Cincinnati, Ohio, and in-person sessions with his trainer are required before adoption can be finalized.<br/><br/><br/><br/>About the Cane Corso Breed<br/><br/>Cane Corsos are powerful, intelligent, and deeply sensitive guardian dogs.
