FERDINAND (cc#7109)'s Story
.......WONDERFUL NEWS! AMERICAN BULLDOG RESCUE HAS MADE ROOM AND OUR HANDSOME FERDINAND HAS BEEN TRANSFERRED INTO THEIR CARE...... AmericanBulldogRescue.org

We're waiting to hear back from American Bulldog Rescue about when they can take Ferdinand. They're looking to their membership to see who can foster him, but in the meantime we thought we'd post our beautiful "Ferdinand". Even the vet says the name suits him because he's just a big, friendly, gentle giant. The vet loves him, and so do we all.....

Ferdinand was found as a stray, and no one came looking. We were hoping to find the owner, but unfortunately, it was a dead end. No one called. No one came. So off to the vet Ferdinand went. He's estimated to be about 6 years old. His Heartworm/Lyme tests were negative. He was given his Rabies, Distemper and Bordetella Vaccinations and he was neutered. He also came back with a diagnosis of hip dysplasia. We knew he sometimes walked a little funny, but it didn't seem to bother him and he wasn't in any pain. X-rays were taken and sent out to a specialist to see what was what. To sum it up, the response was "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". The X-rays did show chronic hip dysplasia, but the recommendation from the experts was to leave it alone. It really didn't bother him, and to maybe add a joint supplement to his diet.

.....We'll have more information from the vet shortly, but we wanted to get Ferdinand posted with what we do know. He's definitely a people dog, and he loves going out for walks with the volunteers. Cats? Well, good with people but not so much with cats. We're guessing there weren't any cats in the home he had.

.......WONDERFUL NEWS! AMERICAN BULLDOG RESCUE HAS MADE ROOM AND OUR HANDSOME FERDINAND HAS BEEN TRANSFERRED INTO THEIR CARE......
