Our most recent medical case.<br/><br/>Feather. <br/><br/>She was surrendered at the last spay/neuter clinic on the reservation. <br/><br/>No one had the space to take her in, but rather than see her suffer through another litter of unwanted puppies & more nights with an empty belly, we said yes! <br/><br/>The oozing wounds on her petite forehead was another big reason we had to take her into our program. <br/><br/>Tribal lands can be so rough on a pup. Like many dogs on the rez, she was the victim of too many litters of pup & too many mouths to feed for her to be healthy & happy. <br/><br/>And the folks who surrendered her thought the old, festering wounds she had could very well be the result of a months old porcupine quilling. <br/><br/>Months old. <br/><br/>We didn't waste any time getting her into our vet for assessment & her spay. <br/><br/>Our vet was able to dig out some quills, but there were some that unfortunately just weren't reachable. <br/><br/>We're so glad this sweetheart is on the other side of misery! She will never again know what a hungry belly or pregnant tummy feels like. <br/><br/>Feather is a truly special dog.
