Fallon's Story

*11/17/25 - Fallon the Fanged Beauty is still looking for her family!
Fallon came to us absolutely terrified, and shes spent the last few months learning how to feel safe again. She is not a turnkey dog. Shes a quiet, gentle soul who has made amazing progress, but shes still very much a work in progress.
Fallon is great with other dogs and follows their lead beautifully. With people, she wants to connect but her fear gets in the way. Right now shes comfortable taking treats, following the routine, and letting her foster handle her in the crate. Out in the open, she still needs space no sudden hands, no expectations, just patience.
Fearful dogs like Fallon dont get better in a week. Their healing follows a slow, steady timeline that could look like this:
Months 13: building trust, learning your routine, softening
Months 36: beginning to accept gentle touch in safe moments
Months 6-12: continuing her bloom and settling into real companionship
Fallon will thrive in a calm home with someone who understands slow-burn dogs someone who celebrates tiny milestones and doesnt need instant affection. In return, youll get to watch a little life open up in the most beautiful way.
If youre looking for an easy, snuggly lap dog right now, Fallon is not your girl.
If youre the kind of person who knows that the best relationships take time, she might be your once-in-a-lifetime dog.
If this sounds like you, wed love to talk! Fill out an application at www.aychihuahuarescue.org/adopt

*10/08/25 - Fallon had her dental this week, which left her with fangs. STAHPPPP!! WE CANT WITH THE CUTENESS!
Fallon is giving us Dracula realness and it just drives us batty
She is still looking for her forever time, and you can adopt her just in time to have your own vamp for Halloween
Interested in Fallon, fill out an app at www.aychihuahuarescue.org/adopt

*09/14/25 - Fallon Pupdate!
Fallon is feeling better and officially out of quarantine! She is now learning to be part of her foster pack!
Fallon is a sleek, gorgeous little chug (about 3 years old and 8.5 lbs) whos still figuring out the good life. Shes shy and cautious, but you can tell she wants to connect. Right now, shell give hand kisses and peek at you with those big eyes, but shes not quite ready for full-on cuddles or leash walks.
She is crate trained, house trained, and respectful in the home. She does well with other dogs and you can see her curiosity about joining the fun, even if she hasnt started to play yet.
Fallon will need a secure yard and a patient adopter who understands shes a work in progress. Shes not going to be perfect on day one but if you give her time, kindness, and routine, shell reward you by blossoming into the companion shes meant to be.
Interested in giving Fallon her chance? Apply at www.aychihuahuarescue.org/adopt
/06/25 - Fallon Pupdate!
Fallon's tests came back and she was thankfully negative for distemper!!!!!!!!
She did test positive for kennel cough, parainfluenza, and mycoplasma cynos. So she will stay in quarantine for one more week. She already is feeling a lot better and her energy level has improved so much! She is anxious to get out of lock down, and is definitely warming up to her foster mama!
We are hoping that this sweet chug babe will be ready for her forever family in the next couple of weeks!!
More pupdates to come!
/30/25 - Meet Fallon!
Sweet Fallon comes to us from the San Antonio shelter. She is currently on a medical hold since she was exposed to Distemper at the shelter and is now displaying symptoms. Fallon has been coughing like crazy, and has nasal discharge. She's been super lethargic and the vet has her on antibiotics. She has perked up some the last day, but you can tell this poor baby feels awful
We have a test pending to confirm if it is Distemper. Please keep this sweet baby girl in your thoughts as we are hoping she will be ok. Distemper has a 50% mortality rate for adult pups. We are hoping we caught it early enough or that her test comes back negative.
Love you baby Fallon, you can do this!!!!
/29/25 - Possible distemper case, moving to medical hold and quarantine
/26/25 - New intake from San Antonio ACS. Approximately 3 yrs old, 9 lbs
