Meet Falkor-Ladies’ Man!

And another addition to our Social Distancing Canine Enforcement Unit... meet Falkor!

PLEASE READ ALL THE WAY TO THE END BEFORE EMAILING US THAT YOU WANT HIM! We are looking to give Falkor his best chance at success, and he needs an adult only home with just one woman in the household- no kids of any age, husbands, boyfriends, brothers, or other family members in the household! He is not good with children visiting and needs the right living situation so that everyone is safe and happy!

This 3 year old maltese looks like the sweetest timid perfect little lapdog that everyone wants at first sight, but he’s been through some stuff and needs just the right home situation to meet his needs...

Falkor is a nervous timid guy who bonds closely to his chosen female owner, and will protect and keep them safe at all costs (stay 6 feet back please, no Covid exposure risk with him around!). His original owners both recently passed away and it seems there was a bit of a loud volatile situation and a lot of yelling between husband and wife so he’s not had positive experiences with men and thinks they should stay away from his mom! Family members took him in and tried their best to keep him but he made it clear that “normal” family life was not for him and defended his newly adopted mom fiercely from her husband and child. ? ? ?

At the convincing and recommendation of a “behaviorist” who saw him once through a zoom training session, he was scheduled to be euthanized until the kind vet staff who didn’t want to see that happen reached out to us to give him a chance. In speaking with his family who were out of options but clearly loved him and wanted what was best for him, it was apparent that his behavior was not unpredictable and easily managed in the right home environment - just one person he can bond to and feel safe with.

Little Falkor has shown no aggression so far in foster care and is a nervous timid anxious undersocialized guy. He’s fine with most other small dogs (no cats though!) and seems to enjoy their company. He has not shown any food or handling aggression, and once he bonds to his person is loyal and very affectionate. If you a single female happily living alone without other humans and looking for a devoted little best friend, you and Falkor may just be perfect for each other!

Please email us at njwoof@cs.com for an appointment to meet him and submit an application from www.second chance.petfinder.com so we can see if you would be a good fit. Reminder- no applications with children of any age in the household will be considered!
