Meet Falkor! This six year old 50lb low rider is ready for his forever home. Falkor was rescued in Texas but thanks to his go with the flow demeanor, his big move north was just taken in stride. Falkor is great with other animals and would fit in easily to any type of loving home! His foster says: "He may have just moved here from Texas, but Falkor is built for life in New York. This 6 year old boy is looking for someone that will snuggle with him on the couch after a leisurely stroll and outdoor dining on their favorite avenue. City noises and commotion don’t seem to bother him much. They are a small price to pay for all of the big city smells. Falkor loves food, but he also has good table manners. He’s a calm guy and friendly with all people and dogs. His looks are attention-grabbing. Weighing in at 50lbs, he is long, low, and thick with adorably large paws and head. Falkor is potty trained, and after being unsure at first, has now mastered stairs! Submit an application if you think he could be the dog for you!" INTERESTED IN ADOPTING? True North Pet Rescue Mission's Adoption Policy

First Step: Submit Your Application True North does not issue blanket approvals, we consider the needs of each specific dog when reviewing applications. If you don't have a specific dog in mind when applying, please note this on your application so that we can keep this in mind when reviewing. We require home photos for all applicants, but can accept a video replacement. Please enter as much detail as possible on your application, this helps us better understand what you are looking for and how this relates to the needs of the dog you have applied for. For puppies under 12 weeks, we require a care plan. This includes a plan for when the dog will be left alone, as puppies younger than 12 weeks should not be left alone longer than 2-3 hours at a time. Please Note: Due to the high volume of applications we receive, it is not always possible to reply to everyone. If your application is approved, you can expect the following. Second Step: Application Review & Approval 1. If your application is approved, an email will be sent connecting you with the dog's current foster. At this time, you may schedule a mutually convenient time to meet. 2. After meeting, you have 24 hours to confirm if you would like to move forward with finalizing the adoption. After this, if we have not heard from you, we will begin scheduling other meets. 3. If you choose to finalize, we will issue an adoption contract via email. Once the signed agreement has been electronically returned along with the adoption fee (which will be disclosed prior to adopting), you will be all set to coordinate for pick-up with the foster! Adoption Fees: Our adoption fees are comparable to those found amongst other well-known rescues in the city. We only accept electronic payments for adoption fees.
