Everest's Story
Note: Dogs are pack animals and do not do well away from other members of their pack. The adopter is the alpha member of the pack, and the dog or puppy needs as much one-on-one contact with the alpha as possible. For this reason, all Route 66 Rescue Inc. dogs are adopted to inside homes only. They must be on leash, or inside a secure fence when outside, and not left outside alone when no one is home. Invisible fencing does not qualify as protection since other animals and strangers have access to the dog. The dogs must be returned to Route 66 Rescue, Inc. if ever given up by the adopter. Thank you for understanding we want only the best for the dogs you give a forever home

, we have a Great Pyrenees who welove but unfortunately was taught some bad habits from a neighborhood dog and he cannot be loose anymore. We don’t have a fenced yard so this has presented with some issues. He is a very sweet boy, not house trained well though , good with children, cats, chickens, etc but not great with cows, horses, and other male dogs. Right now we cannot keep him as we are surrounded by horses and cows. We want him to have a good home and have tried to rehome him ourselves but no luck. We unfortunately need to surrender and hoped that you could help us find a home for him

For more information or to request an adoption application, please email route66rescue@yahoo.com .
