Eve is a super energetic, affectionate girl who loves being around people! She's especially fond of kids and enjoys all the attention she can get. Eve would do best as the only pet in the home, as she does not get along well with other dogs and should also go to a cat-free household.<br/>Eve is housebroken and crate trained, walks nicely on a leash, and rides well in the car. Like many hounds, she sometimes follows her nose more than her ears, so a patient owner who can help her stay focused will be ideal. She can be a bit of a chewer, but she makes up for it with her love of cuddles and her happy, outgoing personality.<br/>Eve is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and heartworm negative. She's ready to bring lots of love, laughter, and energy to her new home!

Erath County Humane Society's Adoption Policy

When someone comes in wanting to adopt, we first ask what they are looking for in a new pet. If they can describe what they are looking for, we will make some suggestions based on that criteria, and then let them go through the shelter looking at the adoptable animals. There are kennel cards on each kennel with information specific to that animal. Once they find an animal they are interested in we do a meet and greet with the person interested in adopting. If they have other pets, we recommend a meet and greet with current pets as well. Whatever animal the potential adopter chooses, we highly suggest a 5 day foster period to make sure the animal and the adopter are a good fit.

The mission of the Erath County Humane Society is to care for unwanted and lost animals, reunite lost animals with their owners and find homes for adoptable pets. We work closely with our community to decrease pet overpopulation and to provide a safe place for animals as they await their permanent homes.
