Eve's Story

Meet Eve!
When Eve first arrived at the shelter, she was very sad and afraid. With time, patience, and the love of her foster family, she has come a long way in learning to trust and feel safe. Now, Eve is ready to find a special person—or people—who will continue to show her the kindness and understanding she deserves.

Eve is a gentle girl who loves being close to her people while also having her own space. Once she feels comfortable, she enjoys tummy rubs and gentle pats on the top of her head. She loves curling up beside you and would happily sleep in your bed, settling herself at the bottom once she's ready to rest. She also enjoys sitting on the back of a chair where she can watch the world go by through the window.

Eve loves being outdoors and would be happiest with a secure, fenced yard where she can safely explore and take care of business. She knows the word “stay,” which helps her slow down when she gets excited. Her recall is still a work in progress, so her new family will need to be patient and continue helping her learn that coming inside is a safe and positive thing.

Eve can be anxious at times and may pant when she is worried. She can also be sensitive to quick hand movements, so approaching her slowly and gently is important. She has made wonderful progress, but she will need someone who understands that trust takes time.

Eve would do best in a quiet adult home, ideally with a mature couple where someone is home often or with a fit, retired person. She would prefer to be the only dog in the home, but she can live with cats. A home without children would be best for her.

Eve isn't particularly interested in toys, although she does enjoy occasionally sifting through ones placed near her. She does love baths, which is an especially cute little quirk!

When left alone, Eve would do better in a safe room or pen with a baby gate rather than being kenneled. A space without carpet, with a pee pad, water, and a soft toy would help her feel comfortable.

Eve has had to learn how to be a dog and how to trust the people around her. She wants nothing more than to have someone of her very own—someone who will give her the patience, kindness, respect, and caring she needs to continue blossoming.

In return, Eve has so much love to give.

She may need a little extra understanding, but for the right person, Eve will be a deeply loving and devoted companion.

Eve is ready to leave her scared-girl days behind and finally become the happy, free pup she was meant to be. Could you be her person?
