Etta's Story

Etta is a sweet, curious girl who loves every second of outside time as she fills it with sniffs, exploring and maybe the occasional zoomie. She doesn’t like to be antagonized into playing at the moment but is playful if she instigates it. She is comfortable exploring the yard on her own but really likes it when her humans or dog friends come with her.

While she is dog friendly she definitely warms up to dogs that respect her space when she needs it faster than others, but will come around to more overbearing dogs after a bit longer. I do think she will benefit from being in a home with another dog or two but she’s seems perfectly content playing with a toy by herself too.

She loves to give kisses if you get down on her level, so be prepared to have a wet face if you do. I also have a feeling she’ll turn into the biggest cuddles once she finds her people, which is a perk for any interested parties with how soft her fur is. She is more skittish/weary of men so would definitely recommend there to be a woman in the home if interested. She is good with kids, even babies and was very gentle around them.

Etta is very comfortable in her kennel and sleeps through the night like a champ! She may whine for a minute right after being put up and then settles down and is quiet until she hears you up. She does seem to be potty trained but does get the excited pee when she knows you’re coming to let her out. She also is extremely intelligent and has been picking up sit, and lay down quickly with treats as motivation.

---
To apply to adopt, please follow the steps for adoption on HalfwayThereRescue.com/Adoption-Process and apply directly here: https://fs26.formsite.com/htrnp/a2k3lsooud/index.html
