Meet Esther <br/><br/>Esther (aka Estie) is an approximately 67-year-old Chihuahua with the sweetest little soul. She has been through many changes recently, but every day she becomes a little more confident, curious, and happy. Watching her trade fear for trust has been incredibly rewarding, and her eyes are finally beginning to sparkle again.<br/><br/>What makes Esther special:<br/><br/>- Sleeps peacefully through the night and loves sleeping in the bedroom close to her person.<br/><br/>- House-trained in my home with no accidents.<br/><br/>- Great appetite and especially enjoys home-cooked meals.<br/><br/>- Loves cuddling, sitting on your lap, and following you from room to room.<br/><br/>- Calm and respectful indoors—she doesn't chew or destroy things and is comfortable staying in a room without a crate.<br/><br/>- Enjoys exploring at her own pace and notices everything around her (even the tiniest mosquito in the backyard!).<br/><br/>Estie would do best in a calm, loving home where she can continue to build her confidence. A securely fenced yard is important for her because she truly enjoys spending time outside exploring safely at her own pace. She's not a dog who needs endless exercise, but she does love the freedom to wander, sniff, and take in the world around her.<br/><br/>Because her history is unknown, we can't say how she feels about young children. For that reason, a quieter home would likely be the best fit. If Estie can be the only "child" in the family, she'll happily soak up all the love, attention, and spoiling you can give her.<br/><br/>Estie isn't looking for a perfect home—she's looking for her person. She'll happily curl up beside you, follow you around the house, and sleep peacefully by your bed. If you're looking for a gentle, loving companion who will quietly steal your heart, Estie may be the perfect match.<br/><br/>Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. <br/><br/>Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. <br/><br/>Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog.
