ESCHER's Story
Escher (A566591) is back with us through no fault of his own. His adoptive family truly loved him, but the resident pets just were not adjusting well to his presence and that is perfectly understandable. They were there first after all. What matters is that Escher left their home still believing the world is a good place, and he came back to us the same happy, enthusiastic boy he has always been. Escher is a bit of a wrecking ball personality. He is big, excitable and full of the kind of energy that makes you laugh even when you are trying to be serious. If you want a calm, gentle flower who tiptoes around your home, Escher is not your guy. If you want a dog who bursts into the room like he has been waiting his whole life to see you, then please keep reading. At only a year old and around 70 pounds, he is still figuring things out. He appears to be mostly potty trained but has a few accidents here and there. With a routine and consistency, we expect this to improve quickly. He loves to play ball, chew on bones and is more than happy to share his toys with you. Escher also enjoys car rides, sitting tall in the backseat like he is supervising traffic. Leash walking is something he is still building confidence with. When he is unsure or does not want to go somewhere, he will lay flat and refuse to move. And when Escher lays down, he lays down. He is a big boy to carry. A fenced yard would be ideal for him because we have noticed he feels much more confident when he has space to move, play and explore. One of the best things about Escher is how social he is with other dogs. He is a rockstar in playgroups, although he does have a rambunctious play style that not every dog appreciates. He would be best paired with a dog who enjoys rough and rowdy play or one who does not mind getting a little messy during a good wrestling session. Escher is a good boy. A big, silly, happy, hopeful boy who wants someone who sees his enthusiasm as a gift instead of a challenge. If you are looking for a dog who will love you loudly and joyfully, Escher is waiting. Escher is estimated to be around 1 year old and weighs 62 pounds. All animals adopted from Huntsville Animal Services are microchipped, appropriately vaccinated, spayed/neutered and given a 30 day flea/tick preventative. Ready to meet Escher? Stop by 4950 Triana Blvd SW in Huntsville, Alabama. No appointment is necessary to meet our available animals. All adopters must be 19 years or older and be able to provide a valid ID.
