Through no fault of his own precious Ernie from BARC has found his way back to Rescue. While puppy Ernie learned to make peace with the cats, they did not learn to make peace with him. The stressful dynamic of one cat tormenting Ernie eventually led to his mama’s tough decision to give him a chance at another home. We don’t think he will be in rescue long because honestly this pup is wonderful! There is no shortage of kisses.<br/>Ernie was owner surrendered to Barc in January. Because he appeared to be an Italian Greyhound mix,<br/>he was then released to IG Rescue/Henry’s Heart. They said he is 2 years old but he acts more like a<br/>puppy. The vet agrees that he is probably younger. He is very healthy with great teeth and no issues. He<br/>is neutered and up to date on vaccinations and heartworm preventative. He is housebroken and weighs<br/>approximately 14lbs.<br/>He was adopted in March by someone with 2 large cats. He was fine with the cats but as soon as the<br/>cats realized that he was no threat to them, they started to be aggressive toward him. So with a lot of<br/>tears, the adopter returned him to IG Rescue/Henry’s Heart in May.<br/>He is happy in his crate when his foster leaves home, but is not crated at night. You can just tell him to<br/>get in his bed and he curls up and as long as his blankie is over his head, he sleeps through the night. His<br/>foster home has two dogs that he gets along with very well. He is used to having a yard to run.
