Ernie's Story
Ernie is a 3 year old, German Shepherd mix. He was brought to the shelter after being found as a stray. Unfortunately, Ernie was recently returned after his adopter's life has changed and he was no longer able to care for him. Ernie is neutered, updated on his vaccinations, flea treated, dewormed, and heartworm tested negative.

This guy is as handsome as he is sweet. He very much loves people, though he isn't the most confident of dogs, so he may take a little time to warm up to new situations and some people. Once he does, though, Ernie is a most loyal dog you'll ever meet, and is sure to become your new best friend. He also enjoys going for walks, treats, and even car rides.

Ernie gets along well with people of all ages, but can be dominate around other dogs. He'd do best in a home with dogs his size and without any cats. He will need some addition work on his basic commands, but we do believe him to be housetrained. He walks well on a leash.

If you are interested in adopting Ernie, please fill out an adoption application using our website (echumanesociety.org) and a member of staff will be in touch with you as soon as possible. You are also more than welcome to stop in anytime during our regular business hours to meet Ernie in person! Feel free to call the shelter at (814) 834-3247 if you have any questions.
