My name is Ernie, and I’m on the lookout for my real forever family this time.

I was born in July 2025 down in Texas, starting life as a street pup before making my way to a shelter. From there, I traveled all the way to Wisconsin, where I landed in a foster home and was quickly adopted. I’m a total softie underneath it all.

I also like to gently guide your hand to where I want pets (I know what I like!) and I’m a big fan of hugs... maybe too big of a fan, but I’m working on keeping all four paws on the ground.

The good stuff:

*I know how to sit and lay down

*I go into my kennel when asked

*I’m smart and eager to learn

*I have so much potential (my foster says so!)

What I’m still working on: I’ll be honest... I’m a bit of a work in progress right now.

New people and situations can make me nervous, and I use my big bark to cope. I also like to show other dogs that I’m the “tough guy,” but once I feel safe, my sweeter, calmer side really starts to shine.

Sharing is new to me too, so I’m learning that I don’t have to guard my things anymore. It’s a process, but I’m trying!

What I need:

*A patient, understanding family

*Someone willing to continue my training

*A calm, structured home where I can build confidence

*Lots of love (seriously, I thrive on it)

I might not be perfect right now, but I promise I’m worth it. With the right person by my side, I know I can grow into the best dog I’m meant to be.

So... what do you think?
