Ernie's Story

Ernie is officially in my home as my foster! I plan to work with him in the coming weeks. So far so good! 10/3/26

Ten days in with Ernie in my home: he is so good. He sleeps next to me on his cot through the night with no issues. Loves toys and can't have enough! Potty trained! Zero accidents in the house. Definitely still has puppy energy but loves to play outside and burn it off. He did great sitting at the restaurant and got to experience the beach. Still working on leash skills but he is half way there for sure!!

Ernie's story began in rural Brantley County, where he was found shortly before the fires along with his five siblings and their sweet mama. Even after such a rough beginning, Ernie has shown nothing but joy, curiosity, and love. True to his name, he is playful, lively, well-socialized, and smart, with the kind of happy little spirit that can brighten any home.

"Ernie has a great sense of belonging to him. He loves to be included. That black muzzle on this face is the cutest and he was the only one of his siblings that had it. I enjoy playing with him. He would do great as a family dog and with a pack. I can see Ernie growing up with his human siblings. I remember my first childhood dog and Ernie reminds me of him. I just love hanging out with him and getting him by himself for special one on one time. He just soaks in the love and looks at you like you are the most special human on earth. I love that about him. He will turn your frown upside down in a minute. He is definitely still all puppy as well. He might be a jerk dog from time to time while he learns his place. However, if you have ever had a puppy, you know exactly what im saying. Hopefully someone falls in love with Ernie soon. Growing up in rescue isnt the worst start to life, but every dog deserves a home. He is 6 months old already. I foster his mom and she is sooo sweet. Ernie is so ready for a family to call his." -volunteer

Ernie would make an ideal family pet and would do wonderfully with other dogs, or just about anything he is lovingly raised with. He is completely up to date on his shots, microchipped, and neutered.

Located in SE Georgia, an hour from Jacksonville

Ernie is ready for a family of his own and a future filled with love. You can apply for Ernie online at brantleyanimalrescuecoalition.com.
