Eric's Story

Eric – 6 Months Old Being fostered in Grafton, ON

Eric’s story began when his mama was found on the streets, pregnant and alone. A kind Samaritan brought her home, where she safely delivered her babies. Soon after, mama stopped eating, so she brought the whole family to the shelter for help.

Heartbreakingly, mama passed away, and the puppies — including Eric — were left in the care of the shelter. Puppies don’t belong in shelters, so we brought Eric into our care where he could grow up safe, loved, and protected. Now this sweet boy is ready for his next chapter.

Eric is:
• Crate trained – he may complain briefly, but settles quickly and sleeps through the night.
• Doing extremely well with house training (he’s still a baby!).
• Leash skills are in progress and improving every day.
• Quiet and calm in the car.

The outside world can feel big and overwhelming at times, but when given the chance to process at his own pace, he bravely takes it on. He absolutely loves being outdoors and is just as content inside, happily chewing his toys to keep busy.

Eric is playful and good with other dogs. He enjoys meeting new people with slow, gentle introductions. We believe dog-savvy cats could help teach him the ropes. He would do best with children 6+ and a fenced-in backyard where he can safely explore and build confidence.

He’s very food motivated, loves his snacks, and is already picking up training cues quickly
.
This little boy may have had a bumpy start but his future is bright. He just needs someone to show him the way.
