Enzo's Story

This sweet boy is ENZO! He's a 1-2 years old Yellow Lab mix and weighs just about 60 pounds although we think he could use a few extra pounds on him. He has a very 'Labby' personality in all the good ways. He's happy-go-lucky, loves to play, smart and eager to please. He'll be a great family dog! He loves everyone he meets and is great with other dogs. He's fine with kitties too! He'd be great as a solo dog in the home with an active family and would love to have doggie siblings too! We think he'd be best with medium to bigger sized siblings because Enzo can be clumsy & doesn't realize he's 60 pounds! :) Because of his size, we also think he'd be best suited for kids who are older - he doesn't have a mean bone is his body, he's just a big goofball! He's an affectionate & smart pup and is doing well on his leash walking skills. We recently rescued him with him littermate, Waylon when their owner's age and health made it difficult to give his pups the activity they needed and we're committed to finding both pups their happily ever after. Enzo looks serious in his photos but don't let him fool you....he's full of fun and just arrived at this Foster home so they'll be getting lots more pics of him. Enzo is healthy, neutered, up to date on all his vaccinations. If you love the Lab breed...he may just be your perfect guy! We think he'd thrive in a suburban neighborhood and needs a fully fenced in yard to play and romp around. Reach out to Long Road Home Rescue (lrhrescue@gmail.com) to get lots more info on this sweet goofy guy!

Long Road Home's Adoption Policy
Where do we get our dogs? Majority of our dogs come from high kill shelters. Some are owner surrender or strays. All of the dogs that come into our rescue have been in high emergency situations where they would not be wagging their tails. We work with a lot of shelters in the south as well as on long island. We have wonderful people who dedicate their time to the dogs and transport them into our long island foster homes.   What happens to the dog after we accept it into the program? All of the dogs first go to see a vet. Once they receive a clean bill of health the go into a home. We normally give each dog at least a week in a home with qualified trainer before we place the dog into a foster. We really like to have the dogs house broken and to have at least started basic obedience training. After the trainer we place the dog into its new foster home until it finds its forever home.
