Emmie - Puppy

This pup is being fostered in Dallas TX and must be adopted within the Dallas or North Central Texas area.<br/><br/>NAME: Emmie<br/>GENDER: Female (Spayed)<br/>AGE: 6 Months<br/>WEIGHT: 10 Pounds (Max should not be more than 15#)<br/>DOGS/CATS: Gets along with other small and medium dogs, Unknown with cats<br/>CHILDREN: Loves Everyone, Is Great with Children<br/><br/>Meet Emmie, a fun loving puppy! She has an outgoing personality that fits in with everyone. She is looking for an active, forever home to grow up in.<br/><br/>In Mid-November, we received a plea for help. There were 5 Chihuahua puppies who were dumped in a Dallas neighborhood. No Mom was with them. The Good Samaritans who found them kept them safe while they looked for owners. When no owners stepped forward, we agreed to bring them into our CRT foster program. Emmie was one of these puppies.<br/><br/>Emmie gets along with the other small and medium sized dogs in her foster home. She enjoys playing with her foster siblings and will initiate play. She loves to run and tumble and do zoomies. Emmie loves going outside to play and explore. Her foster family has a large fenced in yard and she bolts around the yard with pure joy. You cannot help but smile when you see how much she loves to have fun. Emmie also loves toys. Her favorites are the small plush squeaky toys.<br/><br/>Emmie has a great personality. She enjoys meeting new people and wants to get love and attention. She is a huge cuddler so if you love snuggling, she wants to volunteer for the job. She is at that perfect stage where the world is exciting and everyone is her friend! Emmie loves to follow you around the house to see what you are working on. Whatever it is, she wants to be a part of it. Unfortunately, this adventurous spirit makes her want to be the first one thru every door that is opened! So her new home should have some way to block unwanted dashes out the front door! Emmie adores her family and we think you will adore her!<br/><br/>Emmie is super smart, adventurous, and has no fear and is very confident. She also has great manners. She is a puppy and learning every day. She is almost 100% housetrained. She also uses potty pads as a backup. She is crate trained and has become accustomed to sleeping alone but would love to share your bed if that’s what you want. We have begun working with her on walks with a harness and a leash. She still needs to learn basic commands.<br/><br/>Emmie is 6 months old (as of April). She weighs approximately 10 pounds with her max weight being no more than 15#. Emmie has a dark chocolate coat with toes dipped in white. She also has some lighter coloring throughout her coat. We love her ears. We have done a DNA test on her (thanks to a generous supporter who donated a DNA test). The DNA results are back and are as follows: 69% Chihuahua, 7% Yorkshire Terrier, 6% Shih Tzu, 4% Pomeranian, 4% Pekingese, 3% Poodle (Toy and Miniature), 2% Dachshund, 2% Papillon and 1% Bichon Frise! And we will add that she is 100% adorable!<br/><br/>The perfect home for Emmie would be one with the energy for a puppy and a fun environment. Being a puppy, we are sure Emmie would enjoy another playful dog to grow up with. At this age she needs a family who can check on her every 4-6 hours (would not be a good fit for a family that works 10-12 hour days). Note that Emmie does react (bark) to noises, so we do not think she would do well in an apartment. She would be a great family dog. She is a smart, loving, cuddly puppy that would like the same traits in her new family.<br/><br/>This puppy is loving and adorable. Reference checks, adoption contract and $350.00 adoption donation required.<br/><br/>As part of our mission to reduce the number of unwanted and sick dogs, we require that all current pets are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and taking heart worm prevention.
