Emmett's Story

Hi, I’m Emmett. I’m young, slim, speedy, and built for adventure. Full disclosure: I’m a little shy when we first meet, but give me about five minutes (or one treat — I’m not picky) and I’ll decide you’re my new favorite person! I love people, I just like to make a graceful entrance.

I currently live the good life on five country acres with my big brother, Gus. Every morning we head out the doggy door to patrol the property, chase mysterious smells, and run until our ears flap. Mid-day is strictly reserved for napping — I take my rest very seriously. And every night? The best part of my whole day: an off-leash pack walk with the neighbor dogs, including my BFF Grace. (It’s not a crush. Okay... it might be a crush).

I share my property with two horses. I’ve learned they are not, in fact, giant dogs who want to play with me, though I still ask occasionally, just in case they’ve changed their minds.

I know the commands “sit” and “lay down”, and I’m working on “stay” and “come”. I’ll be honest, “come” is negotiable, but I’m highly motivated by tasty treats, so we’ll get there. I love ALL toys, but my blue stuffy with squeakers in every paw is my ride-or-die. He goes where I go: outside, inside, bed. I also enjoy fetch, with one modification — I’ll chase it, but you come get it from me. Teamwork!

After a full day of adventuring, I pass out cold in my plush bed. If Gus isn’t around, you’ll find me curled up under mom’s desk, because being near my people is my favorite place of all.

I still have a lot to learn and I’m looking for my forever family to learn it with — bonus points if you have a furry brother or sister who’s ready to play!

*Puppies will only be adopted to a home with a preexisting adult dog, no children under age five, no unfenced pools, and where the puppy will not be home alone for long hours.
