Emma - Diabetic's Story

Hi, I'm Emma! When I came into the rescue I was emaciated, exhausted and scared. The nice ladies at Seniors Rock were very patient with me! In my time here I have DOUBLED my weight! My foster mom tells me I'll never be hungry again and...SHE WAS RIGHT! This place is awesome! I get two meals a day and I still get very excited to eat, its my favorite hobby.
They also found out I have something called diabetes. My blood sugar was over 500 when I arrived and I was unbelievably thirsty and couldn't hold my pee. Now Im on a schedule of insulin twice a day when I eat. I don't even notice the pokes because Im so excited to eat! My other hobbies include- playing with other dogs and cats, chewing bones, running around outside, sunbathing, taking walks, snuggling and play fighting with my foster dad. I'm still learning how to be a dog so I'm looking for someone patient with another dog that could help teach me. I lost so much time in the beginning of my life and am just now learning all these cool things! I do bark at strangers but its only to protect my family. Once mom picks me up and hands me to someone, I know they must be good otherwise she wouldn't give me to them!
Ill be waiting for my forever family and I'm excited to meet you!
Emma is still working on potty training and does have occasional accidents. Emma would do best with a family that understands the process of diabetes in animals as she does still have episodes of high blood sugar that cause an increase in urination. She is a lover and once trusting, will be the most loyal companion you have ever had.

Emma will be spayed, microchipped, heart worm tested and receive all age appropriate vaccines. (Date of medical treatment 6-25-2026).

*We are a foster based rescue - we do not have a public viewing facility.

*Meet and greets are scheduled once we have an approved application.
