Emma's Story

Emma was invited to spend a few days away from the shelter and her personality started to shine! She wants to be where the people are. Whether that means snuggling on the couch or keeping them company during tasks around the house. Emma loves her people SO much that she has some separation anxiety. Lots of time and patience is important for her to learn that everything will be okay when you leave. Loud noises and sudden movements can be a little unsettling too. A quiet, calm home would be a more comfortable environment for her. When she wants to play, she will quite literally tell you! Funny groans, soft whines, accompanied by lots of tail wags. In her eyes, ripping up stuffed toys is most of the fun. Sometimes eating the pieces along the way. Our crystal ball shows lots of stronger toys in her future. Emma rides well in the car but turns make her a tad anxious. She may feel better in a crate. On walks she loves to sniff around! At times she may get distracted but is typically easy to redirect back to you. She takes the word "no" very seriously and responds well to it! When it comes to seeing people it can be a little more difficult as she gets quite excited! Overall Emma is a well behaved girl with endless amounts of love in her heart who just needs some patience and guidance to grow her confidence!!

Visitors to the shelter are by appointment only and after a form has been submitted online:

https://www.marshmallowfoundation.org/forms/
