Welcome Emma! This brindle beauty is about five months old and weighs 25 pounds! Emma is still growing and our vets estimate she’ll top out around 35 pounds, but that’s just an estimate. Emma has had a difficult life before coming to ACR, but we’re excited to show her just how great life can be!

Emma is currently working on housetraining. She keeps her crate clean and sleeps through the night. She doesn’t have a “signal” to let foster parents know she needs to go outside, but when she starts to sniff, they know she’s gotta go! We’re currently working on making leashes less scary, but Emma is a brave girl and making amazing progress! She is crate-trained, but still likes to be lured in with a treat.

Emma currently lives with two foster dog siblings who are teaching her all about how fun life can be. With her low self-confidence, Em needs structured introductions with other dogs just to show her that she can do it! Her foster parents are hoping to boost her up enough to eventually take her to the dog park to play! Emma also lives with cats and is curious enough to sniff, but prefers to lay by them instead of initiating play.

This little girl is just getting a grasp on how good life can be! She is learning that this world can be a very beautiful place when you have people who love you. She needs “warming up” time with people, but once she knows you, you better bet you’ll be shown unconditional, genuine love!

For a pup, Em is pretty low energy! She does well with a few play sessions (both indoor and out!), a good romp, or just independent play! She really enjoys going for walks with her foster siblings and learning the ropes of how to be the best brindle babe on the adoption market!

To ensure our dogs are placed in a safe environment, we require a home visit for all adoptions. Because of this, we typically only adopt to homes within 30 minutes of Athens, GA. If you are further away than that and are interested in one of our pups, please still fill out an application and we can discuss your options. Please understand that you would be responsible for all transportation - meeting the dog, picking the dog up to start a trial, returning the dog should he/she not be a good fit, etc. Please visit our website for more info.
