Meet Emma
Emma has now transitioned to a hospice dog after being in her foster home for over 5 years. They are able to maintain her every 2 hour around the clock care. It would not be fair to her to move her out of a place she is happy. Please consider making a donation to her fund so that they money is there for her ongoing care.
Emma's eye condition is chronic and she will always need her prescription drops and ointment every 2 hours around the clock for life. We will continue to do this for her as she can see. Emma also suffers from Collapse trachea and will need on going treatment with prescription cough tabs, theophylline and injections of Adequan for this condition. cost for this in addition to her eye medications is $75.00 so around $375.00
Update: Emma will need eye drops and ointment every 2 hours around the clock for life. The cost for the medication alone is $300.00 this does not include the cost of trips to the eye specialist. Emma's eyes are stable the specialist are still trying to decide what is the best treatment option for her. We went ahead and got the 4 masses removed and 3 of the 4 came back as mast cell cancer so she will need to be watched in the future and have any masses removed as soon as they come up.
Update: the second picture is 2 weeks after the first now that she is on 4 different eye drops. Her eyes are still very dry and she will still need surgery to correct them. Emma is a 13 year old fawn pug who just came into rescue with terrible dry eyes she will be visiting the vet to see if there is anything more that can be done. She still has some vision in her eyes so she will be on drops for the rest of her life to preserve what she has. Emma has separation anxiety and needs a home where her human works from home or is home most of the time. She will want to be right there keeping you company. She is also used to sleeping in bed with you.
