Emilio is a 2-year-old male hound mix weighing 45 lbs. He originally came to Canada from Mexico through a rescue organization as a puppy, arriving very sick and emaciated. <br/><br/>Emilio has shown himself to be an intelligent, affectionate, and playful companion. But he also has been fearful of new people and takes time to feel comfortable and confident. Once he trusts you, he is incredibly sweet and cuddly. Emilio already knows several commands and absolutely loves training. He has made dog friends while in our care. However, because he can be reactive toward some dogs, he is not a suitable candidate for dog parks. He would do best with a few trusted canine friends.<br/><br/>Cats: Yes. Emilio was cat tested and showed a positive response. He could do well with a cat friendly home.<br/><br/>Emilio would benefit from an experienced home or adopters willing to work with a professional trainer using force-free, low-stress methods.
