Ember's Story

EMBER, Emmy, Em Age: almost 3 years birthday Dec 18, 2022 Female, 64lbs Personality & temperament: Emmy came into the rescue totally shut down and terrified of everything. She spent months decompressing and starting to figure out who she really is. As Emmy gained confidence in certain areas she didn’t always know how to express it. Emmy has shown some fear based aggression but with time, patience and one on one training, Emmy’s true personality is starting to shine through. She is a silly, goofy, playful girl who loves her foster mom and dad and her foster fur siblings. She has the best zoomies and butt wiggles and loves a good body scratch. While she is still unsure about others, Emmy is continuing her training to continue to build her confidence and to know that she is safe with a strong leader guiding her. Emmy loves her toys and can be found chewing them, sucking on them or ripping them apart ?. She enjoys puzzle games and lick mats as well as a good bone ?. Emmy loves her walks, she is starting to learn to sit and wait patiently while we prepare to leave the house and is walked on a harness, always loose leash (excellent manners on her walks). Emmy needs a gentle but confident, bully savvy leader. She has proven to like consistent routines for the most part but is always up for a car ride and an adventure. Emmy loves her crate as her safe place to go to when she is nervous or uncertain. We continue to take Emmy to her trainer and see progress each and every week. Emmy loves other dogs, with proper introductions and tends to be submissive compared to others. She is also submissive to the resident ? cats. Emmy has come from a very difficult background and has grown leaps and bounds over the past 6 months. Slowly and steadily we have earned her trust and we continue to see incredible growth. Emmy would not do well in a busy home or a home with young children. She is still nervous and unsure around new people but is extremely loyal to the few people she is closest to. Emmy would do best in a quiet home that is a single standing dwelling, as she does bark with unsure noises. Emmy is healthy and UTD on all of her shots but still needs to be spayed.
Distinguishing Marks
Special Needs
Has sensitive skin, allergic to chicken. Does well on salmon based food.
