MEET EMBER FOSTERED IN JACKSOVILLE, NC! <br/><br/>Ember is a 9-year-old Shih Tzu who weighs approximately 9.5 lbs. Ember has been in a foster home with larger dogs, two cats and two teenagers.<br/><br/> Ember is up to date on vetting, has had a recent dental. She has had urinary crystals in the past and requires prescription food and a very moist diet. <br/><br/>Ember loves a fuzzy blanket or comfortable bed; she sleeps in bed with her foster mom. She is a fantastic guard dog, she’s an especially excited about the mailman’s visits! <br/><br/>Ember really enjoys her walks. She gets a little nervous when cars drive by but loves strolling the neighborhood. <br/><br/>Ember is house trained and only potties outside. If she needs to go out, she will notify you by standing near you, making eye contact, and giving you a little huff style noise. When she’s done with potty, she barks at the back door to come in. <br/><br/>Whenever Ember wants to be picked up, she will turn her body, so it’s aligned with you and then she lets you pick her up. If she isn’t interested in being picked up, she will move away from you. Ember has an affinity for male humans; she is very happy when they come home after a long day with just her foster mom and pets! Ember is not a fan of stairs; she gets nervous to go up or down. With patience and consistency, she’s got the hang of the outside steps at her foster home. <br/><br/>It would be best for Ember to have someone home the majority of the day and a fended in yard or a family that would actively walk her.
