Elsa Rose's Story

* RESCUED, HEALED, AND READY TO BE LOVED FOREVER *

Hi everyone! My name is Elsa Rose, and I'm a 7-year-old Great Pyrenees with a whole lot of love to give! I've had quite the journey, but these days, life is pretty wonderful, and I'm ready to find a forever family of my very own!

Before coming to GPRA, life wasn't easy for me. I was rescued from a home where more than 20 dogs were living in terrible conditions. My fur was so badly matted that it had to be shaved, and I needed some extra medical attention. But that was the beginning of a brand-new chapter, and things have only gotten better!

I'm now living in a loving foster home, where I've discovered just how wonderful life can be. I have a soft place to sleep, people who love me, and the best doggy friends a girl could ask for!

Speaking of friends, I absolutely LOVE other dogs! I've made some wonderful friendships with my foster siblings, Willa, Skittles, Indy, and even a playful puppy named Hemlock. We have so much fun together! Who says a 7-year-old girl can't keep up with the youngsters? Not me!

I've also been working on getting healthier. I had surgery to remove a large growth from my neck, and I'm happy to report that it wasn't cancerous! My recovery took a little longer than expected, but I was a very good patient, and I'm all healed now. I've even lost 10 pounds! My foster family is so proud of me!

These days, I'm a happy, sweet girl who loves going on walks, playing with my doggy friends, and enjoying all the love and attention that comes my way. I have such a gentle, loving personality, and I'm just grateful to be part of a family.

At 7 years young, I still have so much love, happiness, and companionship to share! I've come a long way from the neglected girl I once was, and now I'm ready for the best chapter of all — a forever home.

I would love a family who will cherish me, keep me healthy, and give me all the love I've been missing. And if you have another friendly dog, that would be wonderful, too!

I've already learned what it feels like to be rescued. Now I'm hoping to learn what it feels like to be loved forever.

Love and Pyr hugs,

Elsa Rose

Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta's Adoption Policy
Great Pyrenees are the southeasts best kept secret. We are a magnificent and majestic breed that is one of the best dogs a family can own - we really are. We are gentle giants loved by all because we combine two characteristics that are hard to beat. First, we are terrific family pets. We are lovable and gentle with children - we love them even when they treat us like massive fluff balls! Second, and where we differ from most house pets, we are protectors. I tend to be the witty observer but my big brother Jenkins is a typical Great Pyrenees and he is amazing as he patrols our property watching for anything unusual. He takes his job very seriously. Great Pyrenees were bred as working dogs and our "job" in the home is to protect our "family". We have regular adoption days - usually every other Saturday from 11am until 1 pm at the Perimeter Petsmart in Atlanta, GA visit our website to see current adoption days

Our Mission
Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neuter...
