Elsa's Story
~*~*~ FOSTERED IN TEXAS ~*~*~

Elsa is Miss Independent and sassy with other dogs. Confident to push her brother, Elf out of the food bowl - she was the 'mighty mouse' of her group. She follows dogs around and is curious about what's happening, willing to go off and explore alone.

She sleeps on a pillow and likes to chew on hard ropes and bones. Elsa rolls over for belly rubs and when held, will use her charm to lick your nose. Elsa will need more one-on-one to bond with people and seek out holding, petting. She trusts and knows her foster family.

HER-STORY:

From 8 weeks to 12 weeks; Elsa was in a foster home being Quarantined (no outside, no other dogs) to address persistent intestinal worms, upper respiratory infection and low body weight. Elsa did well eating and after rounds of medication, gained weight and started to thrive. She and her littermates then started meeting new [vaccinated] adult dogs to play with. House training is slow due to the initial quarantine (play pen in a designated room of a foster home); the puppies lived outside covered in fleas without shelter when ACO found them. Adopters should have supervised outside time to reinforce potty training without the puppy feeling abandoned.

DUE TO AGE and medical care (Quarantine, repeat parvo testing, Medicine) the puppy adoption fee applies to this pet. Elsa is guessed to be 14 weeks old. -She is Spayed and on prevention. She is a black with tan markings, Elsa has black marks on the top side of her paws. Her tail has been docked and appears to be a ‘home’ job.

Rescue does not do DNA / genetic testing. CCR will not crop ears.

*Adoption Fee includes fee by van transport to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners.

Email with Questions or for Adoption Application - Adopt@CaffeinatedCanineRescueTx.org
Adoption Application LINK: https://forms.gle/33ciYyXPTL18FfnV6

---------------------------------------------------

See more Photos, Videos and Updates on Social Media
Facebook.com/CaffeinatedCanineRescueTX
Instagram @CaffeinatedCanineRescue

---------------------------------------------------

Animal Control conducted a cruelty investigation on a property and found multiple sets of Doberman litters, various ages. CCR took care of all 8 Dobermans removed from the home. Elf and Elsa were the youngest (both blacks, about 8 weeks when brought to rescue). These puppies were clearly not handled as babies. They ran from people, hid under furniture.

Doberman puppies can and will socialize to people, being held and bond even if ignored as babies. They are held by our fosters - fed by hand and given medication orally, held for nail trims. They did not growl or resist being held, just not as needy as typical dobie puppies who want to be carried like babies.

Fostering Saved These Puppies Lives.
The Shelter could not provide the medical care the babies required.

INTAKE VIDEO: https://youtube.com/shorts/voZpYVmWhYI?si=oJ9sK7WtxnneonWF
