Elsa's Story

Elsa is a senior Great Pryanees. She is estimated to be 8-10 years old, which is a senior for her breed. She is finally up to 75 pounds, because she came to us emaciated. She could still gain quite a bit.
Elsa came to us as a stray. Therefore, she is still working on house manners. That being said, she is currently house-trained and create-trained. She rides well, as long as she isn't left in the vehicle. She is an affectionate girl and she likes to sleep.on her comfy dog bed. She does well with dogs of all sizes but hasn't met any cats . She needs a loving home where she can be someone's perfect companion.

Due to her life "on the run", she has had to fight for food. Therefore, if she is in a home with food at her eye level, she is known to scavenge for food as well as having some food resource guarding. Adopters need to be aware of these issues and must be willing to work through them as anyone who has been without knows that there are times when you have no choice but to fight for it.

Anyone interested in giving Elsa a forever home can find our adoption application on our website at www.mayberry4paws.com (under the forms tab). Completed apps can be submitted to us through email, at mayberry4paws@gmail.com.

Mayberry 4 Paws's Adoption Policy
Our adoption process starts with a 3 page application. We carefully check all vet history with phone calls and emails. If they pass that area, we check three references that have to be a mix of personal and professional as well as a check of their previous pet owner history. Lastly, if they are approved in all of these areas, there is a home inspection and interview completed. After adoption, there will be checks on the animal and its well-being, as well as calls in to the vet to ensure that they animal's health is being maintained and that the animal remains up to date on preventatives. If at any time an adoption does not work out, the dog has to return to our rescue.
