Eloy's Story
Meet Eloy — a strong, soulful Dogo Argentino ready for his forever home.

Hi, I’m Eloy — a 95-pound “double pirate” Dogo Argentino currently living in Tampa, FL, and hoping my next chapter is the best one yet.

In October 2024, I was found wandering in a remote area near Fort Meade FL. Thankfully, a caring family stepped in to help, and that’s when my fresh start began. I wasn’t in good shape at the time — my eyes were so painful I could barely open them. The vet discovered I had bilateral entropion, where my eyelids turned inward and caused constant irritation. I had surgery right away, and the relief has been life-changing. I’m feeling so much better now!
I also completed heartworm treatment like a total champ and am officially heartworm-free. I’m healthy, healing, and ready to focus on the good life ahead.
I’m around 5–6 years old, intelligent, and deeply people-oriented. I adore affection — give me ear scratches, belly rubs, and I’ll gladly return the love with gentle kisses and my signature big bear hugs. Through it all, I’ve remained calm and steady. At the kennel, I’ve been relaxed around other dogs and prefer to stay out of any drama.
A peaceful, easygoing home would suit me best — somewhere I can enjoy quiet walks, breathe in the fresh air, and explore at my own pace. I do get curious about certain scents (wild boar definitely catches my attention!), so I may have had some hunting experience in my past. But these days, what I truly want is comfort, stability, and a strong bond with my person.
My ideal home would be a farm or a property with plenty of space to roam. I love spending time outdoors and have an independent side, but I also cherish being close to my humans.
If you’re searching for a loyal, resilient, affectionate companion with a powerful presence and an even bigger heart, I’d love to meet you. 💙
