Elowen 's Story
Elowen is a delight! Silly, engaging, sweet, and full of personality. She prances everywhere she goes! She’s met other dogs, loves her humans, and always has her own adorable agenda of love, snacks, and teamwork.
While she prefers down over sit, she’s eager to learn and even more eager to bond. She does play-bite the leash sometimes, but it’s more of a goofy “this is fun!” game than anything stressful.
She’s such a good girl, and we love her dearly.

Chicago Animal Care and Control is located at 2741 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL, and is open from 12pm to 7pm daily. Walk-in visitors are welcome and helped on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are planning to adopt the day you visit, please plan to arrive before 5:30pm. Visitors arriving after 5:30pm will still be able to view animals in Pavilions A-B-C until 7pm.

All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers).

We recommend and can arrange dog-to-dog meet and greets for your current dog(s) to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination for your dog(s). Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
