Elmer's Story
YOU MUST HAVE AN APPROVED APPLICATION IN ORDER TO MEET OUR PETS.

Elmers foster mom describes this little fellow as the perfect little dog! He is a petite 15 pounds and approximately 8 yrs old. He was picked up in Randolph County as a stray. We don't know his breed mix but he has a longer, lower body and looks a bit like a Doxle (Beagle Doxi mix) with maybe some terrier thrown in. He is cute!!

Elmer is very respectful of space and does not get underfoot. He is well behaved and listens very well, a good boy.

He is friendly and fun and loves to jump up on the couch and cuddle, definitely a snuggly boy.

Elmer likes playing with balls and will even fetch.

He loves to go for leash walks.

Elmer is already housetrained and uses the doggie door. He is working on getting used to crate training and, when foster mom tosses a treat in the crate and says Crate Up, he goes right in. He might fuss a little bit about being in there but getting more accepting.

Elmer loves to eat. He loves treats and takes them very gently.

His foster home has a Golden Retriever and he does fine with her. They also have outdoor cats and Elmer is very respectful with them.

He is playing with toys now and loves to chase a ball. He loves to run and explore and would appreciate a fenced yard (and needs to be on a leash if not in a fenced yard).

Elmer loves to dig up moles or voles so he might be good at ridding your yard of those!

He HATES nail trims! But you can touch and rub his feet when not doing nail trims. So, he will need his family to work on helping him understand that nail trims are ok, that he can trust you not to harm his tootsies, and that trims are a time to get lots of good boy treats.

Adoption donation $300

Please note that we do not ship animals. We also require a home visit before finalizing any adoptions so preference is given to applicants within a 90 mile range. You will be required to come to High Point, NC to meet/pick up your new pet.

HOW TO APPLY:

1. Go to www.lppnc.org
2. Click on the "Adoption Application" link on the left side of the page.
3. The application will open as a PDF and you should have the ability to fill it in from that page.
