TO APPLY:
1) copy/paste this link https://gdrne.com/adopt/adoption-application/
2) OR at the bottom of the page click on "Adoption Policy" and then it will bring up the adoption application.

Meet Ellie, a 2 and 1/2+-year-old, approximately 60-pound Dalmatian/Lab mix (though your guess is as good as ours!) who is ready for her next fur-ever family after her owner could no longer care for her. She's been waiting far too long for the right home, and we hope her forever family is finally around the corner!

Housebroken, cuddly, dog-friendly, kid-friendly, smart, low-key, and trustworthy in the house—Ellie has a lot going for her! She's had no accidents in her foster home, sleeps all night in her own dog bed, and can be left uncrated with no destruction or barking.

She's medium-sized, despite looking bigger in photos, and has a medium-to-low energy level. A couple of walks, some sniffing and playtime, and plenty of naps are her idea of a great day. She's no wall-bouncer and absolutely loves to cuddle.
Ellie is also a nice walking buddy. She's not leash-reactive and doesn't pull much, although she loves following her nose. She hasn't had formal training but is doing beautifully and would benefit from basic obedience. She's smart and eager to learn, already looking to her foster for direction after just a few days.

She's wonderful with the kids in her foster home and would likely do best with school-aged children, as loud noises and sudden movements can startle her while she's still figuring things out. She's also great with dogs and would enjoy a canine companion, but she'd be perfectly happy as your only pet. She's not cat-tested, though she doesn't seem to have a high prey drive and may do well with a cat after a proper introduction.

One little secret to winning Ellie's heart: let her come to you. She prefers approaching new people rather than being approached and warms up incredibly quickly—often within about 10 seconds! Once she decides you're okay, you'll meet the sweet, affectionate girl her foster family adores. She's a little shadow who loves being with her people without being demanding.

Ellie doesn't need a busy, constantly-on-the-go home. She needs someone patient who will help her build confidence, teach her some basic manners, and appreciate what a wonderful companion she's becoming.

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

To adopt or learn more about Ellie's, you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, copy and paste this URL into your browser: WWW.GDRNE.COM/ADOPTION-APPLICATION [Adoption Fee: $495] **

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
