Ellie's Story
My name is Miss Ellie and I am a 7-year-old Cattle Dog who weighs about 52 lbs.
I came up from Southern California in January and, unfortunately, my first adoptive home wasn't the right fit. Now I'm looking for a home that truly understands me and my needs.

I'm a classic cattle dog - loyal, intelligent, and deeply bonded to my people. I thrive when I have structure, clear expectations, and a home where I can feel secure.

My cutest trait is I LOVE stuffy toys, not to shred I promise, I carry them around the house and like to show it off.

I do want to be upfront so I can find the right match: I'm not comfortable around other dogs and prefer to have my space. On leash, I can be reactive, so I'll need a confident handler who can continue working with me and help manage my environment. Because of this, I'm looking for a dog-free home where I don't have to worry about sharing my space.

I also take my home seriously. When new people come over, I prefer to have my own safe space to settle rather than being asked to interact right away. With proper management, I do best when I can observe at my own pace.

In my previous home, I bonded closely with my people, but my strength and energy made leisurely walks a bit challenging for them. I'll do best with someone who is physically capable and understands working breeds, and who can provide both mental and physical outlets to keep me balanced.

All of this said - everything about me lines up with what you'd expect from a high-drive, high-intelligence cattle dog. For someone who understands the breed, I have so much to offer: loyalty, companionship, and a deep connection with my person.

If you're experienced with herding breeds and looking for a devoted companion who will truly be your dog, I might be the perfect match.
