Elda's Story

💞 IN HONOR OF HER BEST FRIEND, SHE’S READY TO LOVE AGAIN 💞

Hi there! My name is Elda but my foster Pyrents call me Zelda. I’m looking for a forever home where I can give someone all the love in my heart.

I used to share life with my best friend, Aria. We did everything together, and she was my constant companion. Recently, she passed away, and while I’ll always carry her with me, I’m now ready to find a home where I can share my love again.

If you’re looking for a cuddle bug, I’m your girl. I absolutely adore people and will happily stay right by your side all day long. Belly rubs, snuggles, kisses—you name it, I’m ready for it. I’ll go outside long enough to take care of business, but as soon as I’m done, I’m heading right back to you. Being close to my people is my favorite thing in the world.

I have the biggest smile and love doing whatever I can to brighten someone’s day. If dogs could make tea to cheer you up, I promise I would! I just have that kind of heart.

I enjoy toys, but I’m not too picky about them. Sometimes I’ll find a ball in the yard and carry it back to the house, but honestly, spending time with people is way better than any toy. I know my name and will happily come when called.

When it comes to walks, I’m pretty laid-back but also a bit of a social butterfly. I love meeting other dogs and saying hello to anyone we pass. People make me especially happy, and I’m friendly with everyone I meet—including the dog sitters when my foster family travels.

I’m housetrained and do great with grooming. I enjoy being brushed and bathed, and loud noises or storms don’t bother me. You can touch me anywhere without a problem. I do need a little help getting into the car sometimes, but I promise I’m worth the extra lift.

My past wasn’t the easiest. I was once chained to a tree and had never lived indoors. But now I’m an indoor girl through and through. I’ve learned just how wonderful it is to be loved and cared for, and I absolutely adore my cozy dog bed.

More than anything, I’m just hoping to find someone who wants a loyal companion by their side—whether you’re working, watching TV, or simply relaxing. I’ll be right there with you, ready to give you all the love I have.

Could you be my forever home? 🐾💛

Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta's Adoption Policy
Great Pyrenees are the southeasts best kept secret. We are a magnificent and majestic breed that is one of the best dogs a family can own - we really are. We are gentle giants loved by all because we combine two characteristics that are hard to beat. First, we are terrific family pets. We are lovable and gentle with children - we love them even when they treat us like massive fluff balls! Second, and where we differ from most house pets, we are protectors. I tend to be the witty observer but my big brother Jenkins is a typical Great Pyrenees and he is amazing as he patrols our property watching for anything unusual. He takes his job very seriously. Great Pyrenees were bred as working dogs and our "job" in the home is to protect our "family". We have regular adoption days - usually every other Saturday from 11am until 1 pm at the Perimeter Petsmart in Atlanta, GA visit our website to see current adoption days

Our Mission
Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neuter...
