Elaine's Story

Meet Elaine!

After raising her babies, it’s finally Mama Elaine’s turn to be someone’s baby!

Elaine is estimated to be around 2 years old and weighs approximately 40 pounds. Our best guess is that she’s a petite Great Pyrenees mix, though her breed is just our best guess.

Elaine came into our program VERY pregnant. In fact, she started delivering her puppies as we picked her up from the vet and continued having babies on the car ride to her foster home! She was a wonderful mama, and now that her babies are finding families of their own, Elaine is discovering what life is like as a beloved family dog.

We suspect this may be her first experience living inside a home, and she has absolutely blossomed!

Elaine is potty trained, though she occasionally has a little happy pee when she's especially excited. She's sweet, fluffy, a little quirky, and absolutely loves belly rubs!

She has done wonderfully with children of all ages, including her foster family's 4-month-old baby and visiting children ages 2 and 8. Her foster even thinks Elaine may prefer kids over adults!

Elaine also LOVES other dogs! She enjoys running, chasing, and playing with her foster sibling throughout the day. She looks to the resident dog for reassurance and confidence, so we feel she would thrive in a home with another friendly, confident dog to help show her the ropes.

A fenced yard is strongly preferred for Elaine. She's still learning leash manners and would benefit from a safe space to run, play, and enjoy the outdoors while she continues building her confidence.

Elaine has come such a long way in foster care, but she's still learning what it means to be someone's dog. She would do best with a patient, loving family who understands that she's discovering many of life's everyday experiences for the first time.

She's already raised her family. Now she's ready to find hers.

Adoption fee: $300 - Elaine is fully vetted

Apply to adopt:
https://rubiesandrogues.com/pages/placement-application
