Egg's Story
Born outside during a cold Ontario winter, Egg is a survivor thanks to her amazing Mom who almost lost her life caring for her pups. Mom is a middle aged dog that solely lived outside and was nothing but skin & bones when she and her litter of puppies arrived into rescue care. Mom & some of the other littermates joined other rescues and Mattie's Place welcomed Egg and her sister Nog.

Mom had a DNA test completed: 50% Rottweiler, 30% Labrador Retriever, 19% American Pit Bull Terrier. Dad Unknown.

On arrival December 23rd, Egg weighed in at a tiny 1.4 KG-3 pounds. At her next vet appointment, January 8th, she is flourishing and weighed in at 4.2 KG / 9 pounds! At her vaccine booster appointment February 10th, she weighed in at 8.7 kg / 19 pounds. At her final vaccine appointment March 9 she weighed in at 13.2 KG / 29 pounds.

I don't know what her adult weight will be, but presumably she'll be a 60 pound range adult dog.

Her DOB: 11-25-25

Egg is a puppy, so she will need someone home most often being so young still so she can learn all she needs to learn at this informative stage in her life. An adopter willing to work with a professional trainer is a preference, so I'm certain she will grow into a respected adult dog. She will fit into most lifestyles; kids | dogs | cats | various humans, as she's just a baby.

Egg is now fully housetrained, but accidents with puppies will happen when moving to a new home with adoptions and she'll need to learn where your "out" is and how to navigate your home to potty outside. As well as you will both need to learn how to communicate with one another to understand when she has to potty.

She is a calm, sweet pup waiting to find her perfect adoption match.

Egg can be shy for a minute meeting new people, but doesnāt take her long to warm up; men, women, kids. Sheās great with everyone. With proper introductions, so sheās not intimidated, sheās great with dogs. Not cat tester, but canāt see a cat issue.

Sheās full of love to give and expresses it through kisses. Sheās a very smoochie girl.

Her non-negotiable spay, that will be noted in the adoption contract, will take place in May 2026 at the cost of Mattie's Place, again, at my veterinarian in Unionville. Adopters are expected to transport to vet appointments. The dates will form part of the adoption contract.

If you're looking for a darling pup, Egg should certainly be a dog to consider! Just be sure you understand all the work & commitment that comes with adopting a puppy.

FROM THE FOSTER:

Our foster girl came to us very nervous and unsure of her surroundings.

New sights, sounds, and routines were overwhelming at first, and it was clear she hadnāt always known what it felt like to be safe. With time, patience, and gentle encouragement, she has made incredible progress and continues to surprise us every day.

She is incredibly affectionate and full of love. Once she trusts you, she leans right into you for cuddles and soaks up every bit of attention. She is happiest curled up close, offering soft kisses and soaking in reassurance. Her confidence has grown tremendously through being around other dogs. Being around our 3 dogs and her foster brother has brought out a playful, happy side in her, and her personality is really starting to show.

Sheās also learning that people can be kind. Each day she becomes more comfortable meeting new faces, and itās been amazing to watch her come out of her shell. She thrives in a calm, loving environment and responds beautifully to routine and positive interactions.

She may have started her journey feeling unsure, but she is turning into a sweet, gentle companion who just wants to feel secure and loved. With the right home, she will continue to gain confidence and give back endless loyalty, affection, and gratitude.

Sheās the kind of dog who just needs a little understanding at first and in return, she gives you her whole heart.

------------------------------------

$875 ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES: spay/neuter, deworming, flea/tick prevention, vaccinations, dentals if needed or any added surgical needed surgical care, food, nose to tail health exam, toys, leash|collar, winter coat (seasonal), poop bags, dishes and 30 days of Trupanion pet insurance with immediate coverage on adoption day for any illness or injury not pre-existing.

----------------------------------------

To note: the above description is relevant to this dog in it's current & previous setting.
