Edna's Story

Meet Edna – Our Grumpy Little Ewok
Located in the Tampa Bay Area – Must Stay Local

If you’ve ever dreamed of having your own little Ewok who may or may not bite your toes when she’s feeling sassy—Edna’s your girl. But let’s be very clear: Edna is not a beginner dog. She is a behavioral dog with boundaries, and if you don’t respect them… she will let you know.

Edna bites. There’s no sugarcoating it. She’s not going to let you touch her the first few days, maybe even weeks. She needs a home that will give her space, not push her, and let her exist as a grumpy little house ornament until she decides you’re worthy. She’s very food motivated and will slowly warm up to you if you respect her pace.

She’s been with us for over a year now. We were only supposed to hold her for another rescue, but they never came back—and Edna’s become a part of our world. But she deserves more than just being a long-term foster.

Her ideal home:

Must be local to the Tampa area (she does not travel well and won’t let you pick her up)
Fenced-in yard required—you’re not walking her on day one
NO kids. Ever.
Someone who will not force interaction and understands behavioral dogs
Would do fine as the only pet or with one chill dog who gives her space
Good with cats—she’s indifferent to them
Homebody preferred—she gets easily stressed by visitors or busy environments
Edna is crate trained, lazy, and loves her little walks around the block. She can be incredibly loyal and sweet—to her chosen human. My mom is her favorite person in the world, and she allows pets, cuddles, and belly rubs—but only from her. Anyone else? Watch your hands.

She’s made huge progress, but she is who she is: a spicy little girl who needs someone experienced, patient, and just as stubborn as she is.

Interested in adopting Edna?
Text us at 813-695-4829
We know the right human is out there. Maybe it’s you.

Our policies are designed to ensure every rescued pet has the best chance at a safe and happy forever home.
