Edie's Story

I'm Edie!
I'm a 28lb, 1-year-old Barbados village dog mix with a big personality in a sleek little body. I'm sweet, loving, and full of energy -- I love playing with toys (especially with two tennis balls at once!), going on hikes, and exploring the world around me.
I'm super smart, potty trained, and love learning new things. I'll even hop right into the car for adventures (I might be a little nervous at first, but I settle in!)
I can be a little bossy with the other dog in my foster home, so I'd do best as your one and only. I'm great with playful dog friends outside the home though!
If you're looking for a fun, active, and affectionate companion with lots of personality, I'm your girl! Originally from Barbados, where she was found as a stray, Edie has come a long way and is now thriving in a foster home, fully adjusted to the comforts and routine of home life.
She's potty trained, super smart, and eager to learn -- picking up on commands easily and responding well to structure and guidance. Edie is sweet, loving, and full of personality. She has a playful, spirited side and absolutely loves her toys... especially when she can play with two tennis balls at once!
Edie also has an adventurous side -- she loves hiking in the woods and exploring new surroundings. She'll happily hop right into the car for a ride, though she can be a little nervous at first before settling in. And after a busy day, she's more than happy to relax and soak up the sun, stretching out in her favorite sunny spot.
Despite her smaller size, Edie has confident, "alpha dog" energy and knows what she wants. Because of this, she would do best as the only dog in the home. She loves playing with other pups outside of her home. She can be vocal when meeting new people, but with time, patience, and reassurance, she warms up and shows her affectionate, loyal nature. Naturally alert, Edie makes a great little watchdog and is always aware of her surroundings. She is also still working on channeling her young pup mouthiness and excitability, which continue to improve greatly with consistent training and outlets for her energy.
Edie is best suited for an active home that appreciates her lively personality, continues her training, and enjoys an engaging, playful companion. With the right match, she will be an incredibly devoted, entertaining, and loving addition to the family.

About Barbados Village Dogs
Bajan village dogs are mixed-breed dogs from Barbados, known for their resilience, intelligence, and strong survival instincts. Having often grown up navigating life on their own, they tend to be adaptable, observant, and quick learners.
These dogs form deep bonds with their people and are incredibly loyal once they feel safe and settled. Many have a playful, spirited side along with a thoughtful, independent nature. With structure, patience, and love, Bajan village dogs thrive in home environments and become devoted, engaging companions.

Vaccinations Up to Date: Yes
Microchipped: Yes
Spayed: Yes
Good on Leash: Yes
Good with Kids: Yes
Good with Other Dogs: Yes (non-resident) Would be best as an only pup.
Good with Cats: Unknown
Potty Trained: Yes
Special Needs: She has alpha dog energy so would do best as an only dog
