Eden's Story

Eden is an approximately one-year-old Husky mix female who came to us from Moose Factory in northern Ontario. She has been doing very well in foster care and, now that her vetting is completed, she is ready to find her forever home!

Eden came to us with a previous injury that we can only guess was the result of being hit by a car. She had a diaphragmatic hernia that required intensive surgery and several days care at the emergency specialist clinic, but she is now fully recovered. We can also see on x-ray that she had a previously fractured right hip and femur - this was healed prior to coming into our care but because of the way it healed on it's own, Eden will always have a unique gait when walking/running. This doesn't affect her mobility and play but does mean that she should maintain a lean body condition and receive joint supplements daily for her lifetime. Despite this, she remains an active, happy young dog who embraces life with energy and joy!

Eden has a friendly, affectionate nature and a wonderful disposition. She is house-trained, crate-trained, and walks well on leash. Eden travels comfortably in the car, settles nicely in her crate at night, and has already learned basic commands such as "sit" and "come." Eden is highly social and enjoys meeting new peopleshe greets everyone with enthusiasm and will benefit from continued reinforcement of polite greetings. She gets very excited to meet other dogs and loves to launch into play! She might be a bit too much for a small, timid dog, but she would love a big playful buddy to keep her busy! She can be left uncrated for short periods of time, though like many young dogs, she enjoys chewing and digging.

Overall, Eden is a loving, well-adjusted companion who will thrive in a home ready to continue her training and support her health needs while enjoying all the affection she has to offer. If you are looking for all the joy of a young dog - Eden may be your perfect match! Precious Paws Rescue's Adoption Policy
Before inquiring about a specific dog for adoption, please ensure you have read their complete bio. We try to provide a complete description of each dog’s preferences in their write up including whether they are good with children and/or other pets. Adoption fees for each dog are also listed in their bio. If you still have questions about a dog you’re interested in please send us a message and one of our volunteers will respond as soon as possible. The first step if you are interested in adopting one of our available dogs is to complete our online Adoption Application at www.preciouspawsrescue.ca. Once your application is received one of our volunteers will review it and then get in touch with you to schedule a time for an interview. We will request a Zoom interview with you, so that we can complete your “phone interview” and “home visit” all at once. If these applications are not available to you we will schedule your phone interview first and, following that, we will schedule a home visit where a volunteer visits to meet all family members and see where the dog would be living. Our focus is on making the best match, not only for our rescue dogs, but also for our adoptive families. We want our adoptions to be successful for all involved so please understand that our adoption process is in place to ensure this happens. If you have any questions please get in touch!
