Eddie 's Story
Update: Adopted 8/13/22!

Sweet, loving, very smart good boy in Sunset, LA area looking for a new home!!

So last month his foster parent took in a stray dog someone found and brought into his work. The handsome brindle boy was wearing an ESA vest. He had no microchip, and his foster parent fell in love instantly, and had initially planned to keep him. Unfortunately, however, he has a very strong prey drive and does not get along with his cats or rats.

His name is Eddie, and the vet estimated him at about one year old. We suspect he's some sort of Dutch Shepherd mix, although we're not sure with what. Fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, on prevention, and neutered. He needs a loving home without any small pets (including small dogs), or small children. Older children and big dogs are fine. In fact, he would make an excellent family dog for someone with older children and/or another big dog or two that he can play with, or simply a couple looking for a new fur-baby who don't have any kids at all.

Eddie is a big ol' house dog and weighs about 80 lbs. He loves cuddling on the furniture with his people and receiving scritchies and belly rubs. He is very sweet, affectionate, and intuitive to human emotions. With proper training Eddie would make a great Emotional Support Animal (ESA).

He has a lot of energy though, and needs either a securely fenced in yard where he can run around and play, or a parent who can take him on regular long walks. He's very smart and learns fast, and already knows a number of basic commands, though we're still working on a few. He can be a bit easily distracted when something catches his attention, but with time, patience, and understanding, he could become the perfect good boy for you!

If interested, please download our prescreening application from our website at
http://acadianahumane.org/catblogger/view-our-adoptable-pets/and email us your completed application to expedite your adoption of Eddie. There will be a small screening process, but no adoption or rehoming fee. If you can't take Eddie home, but know someone looking for a big dog or simply want to help him find a good home, please share his Petfinder page with them!
