National Disaster Search Dog Foundation's Adoption Policy
Anyone looking to give a great home to a great dog is welcome to submit an application. We do give preference to applicants located in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and Ventura Counties so that SDF staff can offer in-person support when needed. We seek adopters who can provide love, good care, and plenty of exercise. All of our dogs are active, high-energy, high-drive canines—while they may not be suited for search work, they can make wonderful companions for the right home. Lifetime Support: Adoption doesn’t end when you take your dog home. We offer ongoing support for the life of your dog, including access to our team of professional trainers for any questions or concerns. Our goal is to help you and your dog succeed together, every step of the way.
