Echo is the kind of dog who reminds us that sometimes the most special dogs need a little more time to find their people. This sweet boy came to HES through our Animal Protection Services after he and his siblings were abandoned by their owners. We can only imagine how confusing and frightening that experience must have been for Echo, and he is still learning that people can be trusted.<br/><br/>Echo is extremely shy around people, but put him around other dogs and you'll see a completely different side of him! Other dogs help him feel safe and confident, and he loves being playful and silly when he's comfortable. For that reason, Echo needs to be adopted into a multi-dog home where he can have canine companions to help him feel secure.<br/><br/>When Echo is scared, he doesn't become aggressive, he simply freezes. He needs someone who understands that his fear is a response to his past, not a reflection of his sweet personality. His ideal adopter will be an experienced, patient dog owner who is willing to let Echo set the pace and celebrate the small victories along the way.<br/><br/>Echo may not be the kind of dog who jumps into your lap or asks for endless cuddles, but that's okay.
