She came to SFCR as a breeder release and is loving the brand-new life put before her.<br/><br/>Ebony does have a grade III heart murmur and has been started on Vetmedin. She will need this medication lifelong.<br/><br/>ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:<br/><br/>Physically fenced in yard to keep her safe - no invisible fences.<br/>Confident resident dog to help show Ebony the ropes is preferred.<br/>Financially stable family who is willing and able to provide Ebony with her heart medication and regular heart checks every 6-12 months (either chest radiographs or an echocardiogram).<br/>*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne diseases, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped.<br/><br/>Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they generally require extra time to settle in and acclimate. Skills like house training, leash walking, and mastering stairs may require a little extra practice. However, with understanding, patience, and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
