Earl's Story

Meet Ethel & Earl!

Ethel and Earl are a bonded pair of brindle beauties who came into our care through local animal control, and they're looking for a home where they can stay together. These two are closely bonded and clearly take comfort in having each other nearby!

In new environments they can be a little nervous at first, but once they realize they're safe, their friendly personalities start to shine. With familiar people, both dogs warm up quickly and enjoy interaction and play. Earl is the more confident of the pair and tends to take the lead. He's a playful, energetic guy who enjoys games like tug and loves chasing toys around. He's very food-motivated and already knows cues like sit and down. On walks, Earl is enthusiastic and pulls strongly on leash, so continued positive reinforcement training will help him channel all of that enthusiastic energy!

Ethel is a bit more sensitive and gains confidence from being with Earl, but she also brings plenty of personality of her own. She's a spunky, quirky girl who's always up for whatever the day brings, whether that's exploring the yard, learning something new, or joining in on playtime. Ethel is a smart pup who enjoys being part of the action, though she tends to show affection in her own independent way. Together, they balance each other nicely and navigate the world as a team.

Both dogs have high energy and would thrive with an active adopter who can provide plenty of exercise, enrichment, and patience as they settle in. Since these two are powerful and strong-willed on walks, we are hoping that their new home will have a securely fenced yard where they can safely run, play, and burn off energy. If you're looking for a fun-loving duo with a special bond, Ethel and Earl might just be the perfect pair!

Dogs: Ethel and Earl are seeking a home with no other pets.
Cats: Ethel and Earl are seeking a home with no other pets.
Children: Due to their energy and strength, Ehel and Earl may thrive in a home with teenagers and adults.

Ready to adopt your new best friend?
Submit an adoption application today! You'll receive an email with all the next steps. At HSCC, dog adoptions are by appointment, and we'll schedule your counseling session promptly to help you find the pawfect canine companion!
