Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's Story

Meet small town celebrity and shelter favorite, Dwayne "The Rock Johnson". This guy was picked up as a stray at 6 months old over 2 years ago! Employees and volunteers are at a loss that he's still in the system, living your whole life in a shelter usually means the worst for most dogs but this guy has stayed happy, loving, and go lucky for all of it. Dwayne is very settled into routine here, he loves yard time, walks with his favorite volunteer, and playgroups with his favorite dog buddies.

Now even though Dwayne has overcome most challenges growing up in a shelter leaves you with he can still be very stranger weary... He would most prefer to meet someone a couple times just to make sure he can trust them. He seems to be most suspicious of men so we'll need to make a couple socialization appointments if any are also living in the home. Dwayne has a couple dog besties that he loves to chase and romp around the yard with but introductions to new dogs will also have to be slow. (Pack walks with employees & multiple visits very welcomed!)

This huge boy is 93lbs so he will need someone dedicated to working on walking, stranger danger, and socialization. Right now he's working on not barking at people he doesn't recognize on leash and not pulling as hard as well. Lately he's also been visiting the catio to learn about kittens and all their shenanigans, so far he's happy to see them but not too hyper focused or disrespectful of their space!

This guy is amazing and really does love all the people he knows, He's still got some playful puppy left in him and just needs to get out to experience life. If you have a warm, understanding family (with a playful dog ;) this just might be the perfect guy for you so give him a shot!

If you're interested in meeting Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, please fill out an adoption application on our website. www.columbiagorgehs.org
