Dutton's Story
Meet Dutton

Dutton is the definition of a gentle giant. At just 10 months old and already 86 lbs, this handsome boy will likely grow into the classic Saint Bernard size—around 120–150+ lbs—and he carries it with the most regal, majestic presence. He has a calm, soulful aura and the sweetest, most humble heart. Dutton doesn’t demand attention; he simply hopes for it. All he truly wants is to love and be loved.

True to his giant-breed nature, Dutton is not high energy. He enjoys a fun burst of zoomies and then is perfectly content laying next to his people and relaxing. He walks beautifully on leash, staying right by your side, and he is fully potty trained. He is great with other dogs and would make an amazing family dog.

Dutton is originally from Tijuana, where he was rescued as a puppy from the streets by a kind elderly woman. As he grew, she realized she could no longer care for such a large dog. He spent much of his early life in a small apartment and wasn’t walked often due to aggressive stray dogs in the area. Because of this, Dutton can be slightly cautious around other dogs at first, which is very understandable given his past.

This is very mild shyness, and it improves quickly with positive experiences and continued socialization. With people, Dutton is sweet, affectionate, and loving — he just has a gentle, humble personality rather than an over-the-top one. With a family that continues to confidently and kindly show him the world, Dutton will continue to grow into an even more confident, well-rounded dog.

If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate, loyal companion with a heart as big as his paws, Dutton may be your once-in-a-lifetime dog

Please APPLY by filling out an APPLICATION on theruffproject.com
