They are known for their loyalty and natural guarding instincts, which make them excellent protectors, but they do require an owner who understands and respects the breeds needs.

Socialization is key. Dutch is being socialized now, and it is essential that his future family continues this. Without consistent exposure to new people, animals, and environments, this breed can become wary or even aggressive toward strangers due to their protective nature.

Strong leadership required. This is not a breed for first-time dog owners. Dutch will thrive in a home with an experienced, confident, and consistent pack leader.

Best with older children. While calm and devoted, this breeds size and power make them better suited for homes with older kids who understand how to interact respectfully with large dogs.

THE PERKS:

Fiercely loyalwill protect his family with his lifeCalm and quiet indoorsModerate exercise needsLow grooming requirementsExtremely smart and quick to learnDevoted and affectionate with his people

THE BOTTOM LINE:

Dutch is a big-hearted pup with a big future.
