Dustin's Story

Meet Dustin! He’s a 2 year old Shepherd, Pitbull, Husky mix plus a
bunch of other fun breeds, we have the DNA test to curb your curiosity on
what else might be in the mix. Dustin was on the euthanasia list in a shelter in Eastern Washington due to his leg injury.

Dustin is the most loveable, social dog you have ever met. And he
would LOVE to meet you! He has yet to meet someone, both human and
dog, that he doesn’t like.

Going to a home with another dog would be a dream for Dustin but
it’s not a requirement. And if Dustin wasn’t perfect enough, he’s great with
kids! The smaller the kid the bigger the chance of him knocking them over
with his leaning in for loves but he is very gentle and sweet with his foster's children.

Dustin is very interested in cats so a cat free household would probably be best, though with more training he could probably co-exist.

Another fun fact to make you love Dustin even more, he’s a tripod.
His leg injury was really his hip and it could not be fixed. It was in his best interest for giving him a pain-free life, so amputation of his back leg was done. He is entirely healed up and it did not slow him down at all!! He’s a pro at moving around with his 3 good legs and can still run, play with other dogs, and chase his toys no problem.

Dustin is fully trained with all of his obedience commands, crate
trained, potty trained, does amazing for nail trims, is incredibly social, walks
beautifully on a leash and is fully e-collar off leash trained. He has been
through a full board and train program with K9 & Handler Dynamics so
whoever adopts this sweetheart will also receive all of his training videos, a
long go home training session, and support training after he goes home.

Dustin is fostered in Bellingham WA and his adoption fee is $300. His training package is valued at $6000 so whoever adopts him is getting an incredible deal on a fully trained dog and lifetime training.

Applications on our website misunderstoodmutts.org

We do adopt in Canada. Dustin is fully vetted.

Please contact us directly with your name, the name of the dog you're interested in adopting, and a quick reminder that you've already filled out an application. A representative from MMR will be with you every step of the way to ensure the best transition possible for both the dogs and for you! **At this time we only adopt out in Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia homes**
